Tag time!

Today I was tagged to answer a few questions by a fellow Army Wife by the name of Chantal over at A Blog A Day While Youre Away. The rules: Answer the questions, come up with your own 8, tag some more people to continue!

Here they are!

1. If you could be on a reality TV show, which would it be? Why?
I would have to say The Amazing Race! It would be really cool to travel the world and learn a ton of new cultures! Plus, who wouldnt think it was awesome to travel across France in an air balloon?? My race partner would be Kevin obviously and we would kick some butt, just in case you were wondering ;)

2. Do you like your name?
You know, I really didnt like it too much growing up, and when Forrest Gump came out (I was a teenager), it got worse because everyone called me "Jen-nayyyy". When I got older, it didnt bug me as much and certain people actually call me Jenny now. My grandfather named me and Jennifer happened to be his favorite name. Funny, because he was one of my favorite people!! After he passed away, I really started being more proud of my name, so thanks Grandad!! :)

3. Describe your dream vacation.

Well, we just started our 3 year tour in Hawaii, and this place is pretty nice!! Really though, anywhere with Kevin is a good enough vacation for me :) A European vacation would be cool though--(fingers crossed) C'mon orders to Germany!!!

4. Do you have names for your future children?

Paco and Gertrude! Haha just kidding (not that theres anything wrong with those names, theyre just not our fave)
If we have a boy, Kevin wants to carry on the family tradition. So his name will be Kevin Eli the third!
If we have a girl, I like Emma Jane. Emma because I really like that name, and Jane after my awesome late grandma! Kevin doesnt like Emma too much, but I told him Jane has to stay!

5. What's your dream career?

Well, I love history, especially the time period of 1900-1960, so I wouldnt mind working in a museum that focuses on the pop culture of that era. It fascinates me :)

6. Who's on your list? (You know, the list of celebrities that you can, you know... no harm done)
Oh my... lets see:
Wentworth Miller
Jason Statham- Rowrrrrr!!
Matt Damon
Taylor Lautner- Hey, he's legal now ;)

7. Do you like where you live?

I do now!! Virginia is where I grew up, and my family is there, so I like it to an extent.... but it cant beat Hawaii weather!! I have a feeling Im going to love living here :)

8. What's your favorite color? Why?

I have to pick just one?? Hmm... Well, I like pink, purple, and blue. No reason really, those are the colors my eyes just gravitate to first. I also like lighter versions of yellow, because they can brighten any room instantly!

Now Ive got to come up with some questions of my own!

1. Pick 3 things you would want to be stranded on a desert island with. Why?
2. How did you and your spouse/Significant Other meet?
3. Where is your ideal place to retire?
4. What is your favorite TV show and why?
5. Who is your favorite sports team? Why do ya love 'em so much?
6. If you could trade places with anyone on this earth (past or present), who would it be and why?
7. Tell us about your craziest funniest family moment.
8. Do you have anything that you collect?

Time to tag some people!

30 days of me-Day 23

Todays topic--Something you crave alot

Besides Kevin (hehe)? I crave ice cream on a weekly basis (and Kevin will confirm this fact)! Ive switched to frozen yogurt recently though to cut down on fat and calories, but its just as good!! Every now and again I get my Coldstone fix though ;)

30 Days of me-Day 22

The topic for day 22- What makes you different from everyone else

Im awesome!!! Haha, while that is true, Im not sure Im that different than anyone else. What Kevin calls being goofy or being a dork, I just say that I like to live my life light and see the humor in everything! I sing and dance in grocery stores, I dance to Vanilla Ice in my car, and I try to make people laugh as much as I can. I have no problems being a dork to make someone else laugh. I kick my own butt on a regular basis too!

30 days of me-Day 21

Well since I slacked off and missed Monday and Tuesday, now Im doing 3 days of posts in one day...

So, for Day 21 the topic is--A picture of something that makes you happy

I figured that since Ive posted pictures of all my neices and nephews and pictures of Kevin all over my blog, then I would post pictures of the next little guys that make me happy. Say hello to Mia and Wyatt! These cats are the bain and joy of my existence. Theyre just like little children--they get into stuff theyre not supposed to, they play 1/8 of the day playing and spend the rest eating and sleeping, and they crack me up on a daily basis!! They have their own personalities- For example, Wyatt is ADD,gets bored easily, and doesnt like change. He is also a little ham and loves attention all the time. Mia keeps to herself and rolls with the punches when life changes. She talks back too...all the time. She is my sassy girl, but shes really a sweet cat that purrs pretty much constantly. Kevin and I love these guys and love that they are part of our family.

30 Days of Me- Day 20

Todays topic-Someone you see yourself marrying or being with in the future

*yes I know I am posting this technically on the 27th and not the 26th, but between laundry and eating dinner and writing in my other blog, I didnt catch this one till after midnight...sue me ;) *

Okay, this is the easiest topic thus far. I married the man of my dreams June 12th of this year, and he is the only man I see myself with forever :)

I love him <3

Being silly, poking fun at the crazy self portrait poses I do :)

Flexing at the beach--sexy!!
Kevin is amazing and I love him more and more with each passing day! He is my best friend, my soulmate, and the future father to our children. He is my hero and I cant wait to share my lifes adventures with him! I love you honey!!

September 25, 2010

30 Days of Me-day 19

Todays topic-Nicknames you have and why you have them

Well, most folks call me Jen, Jenny, or Jennifer but Im known as "Heffa" to my BFF. Kevin also calls me "sexy mama", "lover", "sexy lover", etc ( you see where thats going haha). Before I got married, the people at work would call me Espinosa, Espineezy, Lumbidizzle Espineezy, Espy, J.E.,etc (my former last name was Lumbi-Espinosa). It was fun but those times are long gone thankfully! Now I have a new last name for people to mispronounce :)

September 24, 2010

30 Days of me-Day 18

Todays topic-Goals/dreams/plans you have

Well, my immediate goal is to get a house and make it a home! Ive already got Kevin hehe so another goal/dream/plan is to have a baby. Kevin and I are both family oriented people and we would love to expand our family soon. My other big plan/goal is to get a college degree! So many things in my life have given me a road block to this goal, but Im going to acheive it! When I graduate, I will be only 1 of like 3 people on my mothers side of the family in 3 generations to graduate college. It will be a pretty good day :)

Milspouse Friday Fill-In

1.) What characteristic about yourself has either been strengthened or weakened due to your experience as a Military Spouse? (from The Albrecht Squad)

I would have to say my patience and independence has strengthened while being an Army wife, both in my experience as a milspouse with my ex husband and more so with Kevin. A weakness Ive always had is stubborness and it was/still is hard to ask for help. Im working on this because I know I may need it when Kevin deploys

2.) What is your favorite vacation spot and why? (from ‘Tis the Life of the Army Wife)

So far?? Hawaii!! We are so blessed to have gotten this assignment and Im excited to spend the next 3 years here. I do love the Cayman Islands and I would love to go back to Europe just because its a whole different world over there! Any place is good though, as long as Im relaxing with Kevin :)

3.)If you could have any fast-food restaurant in the food court on base/post what would you pick? (from The Only Pink in a House of Blue)

Chik Fil A!!! I have searched high and low and theres not a Chick Fil A anywhere on island!!! There is a Moes though (Sorry Rosie ;) )

4.) Where did you go on your honeymoon? (from Pennies from Heaven)

Well, when Kevin and I got married this past June, we decided not to take a honeymoon right away because we knew we were going to Hawaii. We have decided that since we will not be able to afford/take enough leave to come home for Christmas this year so we are going to take a few days off and go on our honeymoon to like Maui, or Kauai.

5.) If you could have any job in the world regardless of money, degree or experience, which job would you have and why? (from Proud to Be a Navy Family and The Calm Before The Storm)

The job I want most in this life doesnt require a degree, and you dont get paid actual money for it, but it would give me the best fulfillment in life. I really want to be a mom! I mean, Im "mom" to my kitties and I love them to death, but I want kids of my own. I mean, if I get the best feeling ever just by watching my neices and nephews grow up, what kind of feeling am I going to have as a mother? That is my greatest aspiration and I really look forward to that job :)

30 Days of Me- Day 17

Todays topic- Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why....

September 22, 2010

Being goofy in the pool!
So I posted 2..sue me lol. "Im so vain, I really think this post is about meee.." hee hee...

30 Days of Me- Day 13

Todays topic-a letter to someone who has hurt you recently

After thinking...and thinking.....and thinking... I really cant come up with anyone or anything that has hurt me recently! Other than my hip, which hurts all of the time, life is pretty good right now! Sorry for the boring post and the lame-o answer, I just cant think of anything! Give it a few weeks though, we may not get the housing we want on post, then I will write my letter!!!

September 18, 2010

30 Days of me- Day 12

Before I post todays topic, I wanted to remind everyone that our Hawaii blog is up and I have posted daily since we arrived on island...plenty of pictures in there too so feel free to stop on by :) http://www.buzuleciusinhawaii.blogspot.com/

Okay so now that Im done with my shameless plug (haha)....

Todays topic- how you found out about blogger and why you have one

I found out about blogger through a fellow military wife and I enjoyed reading her blog so I decided to make one myself! At first I really didnt keep up with it, but I found that writing in my blog kind of allowed me to vent when I needed to! About a month before we PCS'd to Hawaii, I decided to make an additional blog that my family and friends from back home could read about our adventures in Hawaii. Now I have a few public followers and I know that my mom reads my blog daily :) I like the fact that she enjoys reading my blog every morning before heading to work so Im going to try my best to write a little (or a lot) of something everyday so she can feel a little closer to us!

September 17, 2010

30 Days of Me- Day 11

Todays topic-Another picture of you and your friends!

Wow this is little! This was taken at my high school graduation! Im third from left :)

Holy cow, my high school graduation! It was 11 years ago and I pretty much look the same I guess haha

Milspouse Friday Fill In time!!

Well since its still Friday here in Hawaii, I can still post this :P

1.) How do you spend your deployment money, do you save, pay off bills or enjoy the extra money while it is there to buy the things you do not normally have? (from Troop Petrie)

Save, save, save. At the end of my ex-husbands first delployment, we had 28,000 bucks in the savings account. His truck was paid off and the only bills he had were his cell and whatever he needed downrange. I used my paychecks for my bills. With Kevin, he is going to save as much as he can this next deployment and put it in his Betty fund (Betty is his Jeep haha) so that he can get new parts for her when he gets home. Ideally I would like to be working full time and use my paychecks to take care of all of our bills.

2.) If you could relive one occasion or moment, what would it be? (from Currently On Land)

The night I met Kevin....other than our wedding day it was the best night of my life. Aw heck I want to relive our wedding day too :)

3.) What's the worst job you ever had and if it was so bad why did you take it? (from Faith and Deploying)

I worked at MCI as an outbound telemarketer. I hated that job but I needed a job quick and didnt want to work fast food. I hated calling those people and interrupting their lives....ugh needless to say I didnt stay there long!

4.) If you could play any character on TV, who would you be? (from Many Waters)

I wouldnt mind doing a voice for Family Guy...I love that show haha

5.) If you could become the world's expert in something, what would it be? (from Army of Two)

Nagging my husband or driving while texting haha!! In all seriousness, eventually I would like to be an expert in History :)

September 16, 2010

30 Days of me- Day 10

Todays topic- Songs that you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped, mad

Well I like all kinds of music and have a very diverse playlist on my Ipod!

When Im happy, I tend to listen to rock/alternative rock, pop, and occasionally some hip hop
When Im sad, again I may play rock to up my mood, or if I have alot on my mind, sometimes nothing.
When Im bored, I listen to pop or classic rock mostly
When Im hyped, I tend to listen to loud loud rock and pop (this is usually when Im at the gym)
When Im mad, I listen to softer music, or classical music to mellow me out.

I love music, and it really just depends on my mood as to what I will listen to. Some days Im feeling techno, others top 40, it really just depends :)

September 15, 2010

30 Days of Me- Day 9

Todays topic- Something you're proud of in the last few days

Hmmm can it be within the last few weeks? Because Im proud of myself for organizing most of the prep for our move and researching our new home! I kept up with my own personal timeline, and I felt like we were really prepared when we arrived on island! The cats didnt have to be in quarantine like most pets, and one of our vehicles was waiting for us when we got here! Plus we had already been on the housing wait list for one month when we got here! Usually Im a procrastinator, so for us to keep up with the timeline makes me happy!

September 14, 2010

30 Days of Me-Day 8

Im proud of myself for keeping up with this! In addition to my Hawaii blog, its something I look forward to doing everyday. Hope its not too boring or dweeby! :)

Todays topic- Short term goals for this month and why.

Oh this one is just too easy--get a house!! I mean, the hotel is nice (enough haha) but I really cant begin to get settled until we have a place to hang our hats, ya know? Getting a house means my kitties can be more comfortable, I can cook in something other than just a microwave, we can get our household goods delivered, and have an address finally! I would say that another short term goal is to get my beloved S.S.Sebring, but she doesnt arrive until next month :( I would really like to get my gym routine back on track by the end of this month too! Oh how Ive missed the gym  *sigh*.

September 13, 2010

30 Days of me-Day 7

Todays topic-a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

Well, Im gonna break the rules here and post pictures of the people who have the biggest impact on me, because its more than one person!! Theyre all in the same group though :)

There you have it! These people have more of an impact on me more than anyone else. Other than my husband, they are my very favorite people in the whole world! Ladies and gentlemen, meet my neices and nephews...all nine of 'em! :) Their pictures are in order from oldest to youngest. If you really know me, you know that my neices and nephews are the center of my world, 2nd only to Kevin. These awesome people make me want to be a better person everyday :) I really love being Aunt Jen, and these guys are the best neices and nephews EVER!!

September 12, 2010

30 Days of me-Day 6

Todays topic- Favorite super hero and why

Wonder Woman!! She taught us that there wasnt anything a girl couldnt do, and she did it with class!

It would be wrong of me not to include my other favorite super hero...he doesnt wear a cape, and he cant see through walls or anything (that I know of hehe), but he wears combat boots and makes me amazingly happy! Its...you got it...Kevin!

My super hero, super studly man and I love him so very much :)

September 11, 2010

30 Days of Me-Day 5

Oh my goodness I almost forgot to do this today! Oh well so I posted two times today haha.

Todays topic-A picture of somewhere youve been to

Well, there are pictures of me in Hawaii on my other blog so I will post a pic of me somewhere else!

This was taken at the exact moment that Kevin and I were pronounced husband and wife. It was taken in Columbus, Ohio! Although its not an exotic location, it was significant to me and there was no where else in the world that I wanted to be than right there :)

9/11

Can you believe its been 9 years?? This is one of those events that you just remember no matter what. You remember where you were, what you were doing, and how you reacted. I was 20, almost 21, and I was at work that morning. I remember going into the breakroom to have breakfast and watch tv. The show was interrupted by the news saying that a plane had run into one of the World Trade center buildings. My first reaction, as I rolled my eyes, was that another drunk pilot had crashed his plane into a building. Then a few minutes later another plane crashed into the other building..."wow thats weird" I was thinking. So I went back to work and about 15 minutes later, one of our coworkers came onto the production floor saying that this was a major serious situation and that America had just been attacked. "What? Who in the heck would have the balls to do that?" After awhile our site started sending people home because this was more than just planes running into buildings.
When I got home, I turned on the news just to see what was going on. Well by that time, CNN knew that this was a terrorist attack on our nation, and that there were 2 more planes they hijacked as well! One crashed into the Pentagon, and one crashed in a field in rural Pennsylvania. That one, we found out later, was destined for the White House and because of a few brave men and women on that plane, that plot was diverted. I remember crying alot that day. Crying for the lives lost and the utter shock of someone that had the cajones to attack our nation! Stupid terrorists! For the next few weeks, like most Americans, I was glued to CNN. I found out more about the lives lost, the people who took those lives, and the heroic actions by the firefighters and police officers who had to respond to the scene of a very horrific crime.
In nine years I still remember the awful events of this day in 2001, and I know I will never forget. Its etched in my brain, and the brain of those who witnessed it, forever. So tonight before you go to bed, say a prayer, or have a moment of silence, to remember those lives lost and think about what our brave men and women do each day to prevent this from happening again.

September 10, 2010

30 Days of me-Day 4

Todays topic- A habit you wish you didnt have

After much thought I came up with tie... the first habit-- I wish I wouldnt tailgate people while driving. Its a really bad habit and its dangerous seeing as I like to speed a little too. Im trying to stop haha. The second habit-- I tend to interrupt people when theyre talking and I dont know why I do this and its not my intention to be rude at all, it just happens. Maybe I feel like I will forget what I want to say if I dont say it right then. This is a habit I really need to quit.

Milspouse Friday Fill-In

Yay its Friday! Time for the weekly Fill-In...and one of my questions was posted!!! As always, you can get them at http://www.wifeofasailor.com/!

This weeks questions:

1. Do you set goals for yourself during deployment? What are some of them? (from Military Mommy)

Well, I havent been through a deployment with Kevin, but I did go through 2 with my ex husband and I did set goals for myself. I set weight loss/get in shape goals, and had lists of fun activities I could do while he was away.

2. What would you say to someone dating a military guy or gal? (from Mothering Off the Cuff)

I try to give as best advice as I can. I tell them that being the SO of someone in the military is stressful at times and takes alot of patience and getting used to. Dates will be changed and the military cant seem to make up its mind often. Just roll with the punches, have alot of faith and trust in your relationship, and have good communication--its important nowadays since most military members may be away from you for extended periods of time. Definitely have an open mind about things
3. If you have children, how do you prepare them to move to a new place? (from The Random Ramblings of A Household 6)

First, ooh thats my question hehe. I dont have children (yet, soon I hope!) but when I do, I will research the new place as much and as far out as possible before the move. Then I would incorporate some kind of fun learning activities to get my kids amped up and excited about where they are moving to. I want to keep the entire move process as positive for them as possible.

4. Name one hobby that gets you through alone time. (from My Sailor’s Mistress)

Aww just one?? Hmmm, I would say getting out and doing things with friends! Group activities can be hobbies, right??

5. What’s the one food you don’t ever get tired of? (from That Army Wife Life)

Chicken! I love love love chicken. Roast chicken, grilled chicken, Chinese Orange Chicken, you name it I love me some chicken lol

30 Days of Me-Day 3

Todays topic- a picture of you and your friends!
Because Ive been up for about 20 hours now and am really jetlagged, I will just post the pic. I will, however, be writing in my Hawaii blog daily starting tomorrow as we have arrived safely on island!!

My girls and me- my bachelorette party... I didnt realize how bad I look in this pic haha

September 8, 2010

30 Days of Me~ Day 2

Todays topic- The meaning behind your blog name.

Well I originally had it as Aunt Jen the Army Wife, which is just a representation of me as a proud aunt and that Im an army wife. I changed it to The Random Ramblings of a Household 6 because often times Im random and I love to talk so I "ramble" haha. Household 6 signifies the highest ranking person of the household (commander), much like the rank of O-6 in the military world. Its not anything fancy, but I thought it was cute, and who knows, I may just change it again :)

**this may be my last blog until we arrive in Hawaii, so wish us luck! We are down to mere hours now :)
Dont forget about our Hawaii blog, coming soon!!
