Happy Homemaker Monday

I found this idea from my dear friend Rosie at The Pavlik Perspective! Ive been looking for something to fill this blog with, so this is one of the things Im going to try out! Thanks Rosie!!

The weather in my neck of the woods:

79 Degrees, mostly cloudy (big white puffy clouds, some blue skies), winds are calm :)

Things that make me happy:

*The purring of my cats
*Kevin
*Going to the gym
*Accomplishing my goals
*My neices and nephews (all 9 of them!)

Book I'm reading:
Im finishing Breaking Dawn, and Ive been slowly reading through Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Its a must read for any woman!

What's on my TV today:
Nothing so far. I rarely have the TV on during the afternoon, because then I get distracted from things Im supposed to be doing haha. On Monday nights though, Kevin and I cant resist our 3 hours of Family Guy!

On the menu for dinner:
Pork chops, roasted potatoes, and a veggie to be named later

On my To Do List:
*Laundry
*Go through at least 3 boxes and put stuff away
*Sweep the floors downstairs
*Vaccuum the floors upstairs
*Go to the store
*Put gas in the car
*Zumba class tonight!

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
I love love love smoothies, so I will be trying this"
Strawberry/ Kiwi smoothie

strawberry fiber one yogurt

5-6 strawberries

1 kiwi, peeled

1 cup ice

Blend all ingredients together and serve

I found this over at Ginas Recipes! Best of all its only 1 Weight Watchers point! I plan on trying lots of recipes at this site :)

In the craft basket:

Nothing yet :(

I am going to start a wedding scrapbook soon, as well as a scrapbook documenting our time in Hawaii. I also want to learn how to quilt, but that will come after I get a sewing machine (hint hint honey, Christmas is coming ;) )

Looking forward to this week:

Getting our home cleared of boxes--what an eyesore!!
Getting back in the gym on a regular basis (finally!) and Zumba with some wives from Kevins unit!
Starting a scrapbook!
Trying some new recipes

Tips and Tricks:

When PCSing, or moving, only open one box at a time and put it away...keeps the overall process less overwhelming!!

My favorite blog post this week:

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):

Ginas Recipes! After reading some wonderful success stories from people that do Weight Watchers, they shared this blog which contains lots of yummy recipes, complete with weight watchers point totals! Im excited to try some of these recipes in my quest for healthier eating!

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

Lesson learned the past few days:

Hmmm.... try not to get overwhelmed by large projects. Just take it one item/day at a time :)

On my mind:

*Family
*Christmas
*The frustrations of TTC (this is on my mind alot)
*Turning 30
*Finding new ways to strengthen our marriage
*Fixing up our new home

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:

Be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead!

  1. I own and love Taking Charge of Your Fertility. One piece of advice that I can offer with TTC ( and I know that it is a hard thing to stick with but) don't stress if it doesn't happen right away. Chris and I tried for over a year before he left in January. When he got back, it was the last thing on our minds esp with the news of our orders to England January 2011 and look what happened, lol! I also suggest charting like the book recommends because it not only helps with TTC but also keeping up to date on your body's schedule as well as any abnormalities. I brought an abnormal schedule to my doc's attention last summer and he was able to pin point and treat my lazy left ovary. I never bought the kits or sticks or any of that mess, I just paid attention to feelings and schedules. Remember that you have my number and my email ( which goes to my phone) if you need me. :) ~Rosie
