Happy Homemaker Monday

To complete one of your own and add your link, go HERE!

Weather in my neck of the woods:
I feel bad saying because I know my dear friends back home are starting to get chilly....
Its like 81 F and partly cloudy

Things that make me happy:
-Kevin continues to make me the happiest woman alive on a daily basis-he's @ the top of this list every week :)
-The fact that December starts Wednesday, and Im still in a tank top and shorts
-My awesome early Christmas gift I got to order today from Kevin: a brand new Kindle!
-My neices and nephews...I really miss them!
-Shave ice
-My kitties
-getting 2-$269 pedestals (thats the regular price for each) for our washer/dryer for $99 bucks a piece at Lowes this past weekend!

Books I am reading:
-I just started reading The Confession by John Grisham. When my kindle gets here I will continue reading it on that!

What is on my tv today:
-Nothing! The TV isnt usually on in the afternoon, other than when Kevin is home for lunch

On the menu for dinner: -Well since today is my awesome husbands birthday, he has chosen Barbecue Chicken for dinner
On my to do list:
- (sucks in a big breath a la Ace Ventura): Finish laundry, vaccuum upstairs, clean all three bathrooms, sweep and swiffer downstairs, clean out the refrigerator, get all of our picture frames downstairs, edit and process a bunch of pictures, finish the desk, wash and wax my car, get an oil change, go to the pet store, give my cats a bath, put away our winter clothes, go to the grocery store, go to the post office to get stamps, address all of our Christmas pictures/cards, start shopping for the kids and get their boxes together, and go to spin class! Phew those are just my goals this week!

New recipe I tried or want to try soon:
-For one of my friends' birthday a couple weeks ago, she got cupcakes but they were baked in ice cream cups, with frosting and sprinkles on top to resemble "ice cream". They looked delicious so I thought I would make some!

In the craft basket:
-Its not really in a basket, but other than the desk Im still procrastinating attempting to finish, Ive started tinkering around with digital scrapbooking.

Crochet:
-is that french for something??? Lol

Scrapbooking:
-Digital

Looking forward to this week:
-My Kindle getting here on Wednesday!!! Plus, I have a doctor appointment on Thursday that Im kind of excited about. Theyre going to see if my tubes are blocked...hopefully they arent!!!

Tips and Tricks:
-The coolest trick I learned this week was to cook the turkey breast side down. The breast meat was not dry at all!!

Favorite blog post of the week:
-hmm probably something having to do with a sale!

Blog hopping( a new blog I discovered):
-no new blogs this week unless you count the thousands of scrapbooking blogs I went through!

No Words Needed:

Lesson learned the past few days:-Give my cats the benefit of the doubt sometimes....they havent knocked over our tree or pulled any ornaments off of it and we have had it up for over 3 weeks now! They just like to sleep on the super soft and fluffy tree skirt :)

On my mind:
-Tests they have started running since we are way over the year mark of TTC
-Kevins medical stuff
-The "upper management" (if thats what you want to call them..hmmpphh) of Kevins unit--they are not people who should be in upper management positions if you know what I mean.
- Im not gonna lie...my new Kindle! Hurry up UPS man!!!  :D
- See topic#6!

Long time no post!

It has been some time since Ive last posted on this blog! Im currently working on a completely new design for the blog, as well as a new name (which yall might have noticed!) For now Ive decided on "Confessions of an NCO's Wife" but I may change it later on. I cant stay with the same thing for too long! I want to continue writing in this blog on a regular basis, but for some reason Ive been putting it off lately. Of course there is our Hawaii Blog which I write in every day. Its like a daily journal of sorts to keep our family updated on our adventures and challenges out here. I will do better at writing at least something a few times a week in this one though!!

Milspouse Friday Fill-In

I love Fridays, but today is extra special because....its my Birthday!!!! Yay for birthday, not so much the actual age. See, I have entered in to the glorious decade of my thirties, and while I have heard that this particular time in my life is going to be fun, Im not excited about crows feet and gray hairs starting to pop up! Then again, thats why the good lord invented miracle creams and hair dye!

Gah, Im rambling...back to business! Its time for another round of Milspouse Friday Fill In!!
This weeks questions are...

1.) A different twist on last week's question. This week, the first question is: what’s the nicest thing a MILSPOUSE has ever done for you? (brought to you from navy_smurfette)

Im still rather new to the whole milspouse thing (during my 1st marriage, I didnt hang with other milspouses because I was in Va and the hubs was in Germany/Iraq) so I really havent had much interaction with milspouses here yet. A milspouse did get me turned on to spin class at our local gym, and for that I thank her!!

2.) How often do you drive faster than the speed limit?

On post? NEVER. Off post? At least 5 over all the time unless I have children in my car (then its the grandma lane for me!). Suprisingly enough, I havent gotten a speeding ticket in over 6 years! I usually go with the flow of traffic, so since arriving in Hawaii, its usually just 5 over. The driving style is WAY more laid back than back home. People usually do the speed limit or under (drives me nuts)

3.) Did you have a nickname in school? If so, what was it?

Just your standard Jen or Jennifer. Of course when the movie Forrest Gump came out, it was Jen-nayyyyyy haha. Nowadays I answer to Aunt Jen/Jenny, honey/babycakes/loverbutt/lover/baby (from Kevin obviously), Jen, hey you, Mrs Buz...

4.) If your life was a book, what would the title be and how would it end?

"The random life of J Buzuleciu" and it would end with Kevin and I enjoying retirement with our grandchildren

5.) Look back (in your planner if you have one) to September 14th... what did you do that day?

We had been on island for 5 days. That was a Tuesday, and Kevin had gone back to work so I was stuck in a hotel room most of the day. I think I made my first trip to the pearlridge mall that day to get my rings resized!

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

TGIF yall!! Its time for another installment of Milspouse Friday Fill-In! Head over to Wife of a Sailor to snag this weeks questions :)

1.) What’s the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you?

I had a complete stranger stop and help me change a tire once!! Thanks random lady!!

2.) If you are having a hard time going to sleep, what do you do to help yourself?

Tylenol PM usually because I have insomnia that rears its ugly head. I also read the news on the computer, that helps me get sleepy

3.) Name something that makes you wish you were a kid again.

There are a few things, starting with my car note, bills, etc. Seeing as Halloween is right around the corner, I miss dressing up and going trick or treating! Now I dress up, but Im the one handing out the candy hehe

4.) What is something you never believed until you experienced it?

I never believed I would sound like my mother when I grew up, but now that Im an adult and getting older, I find myself saying some of the things to my neices and nephews that she said to me!!

5.) What can’t you say “no” to?

Its not so much "what" I cant say no to, its "who"! And that would be my neices and nephews. They look at me with their cute faces and their puppy dog eyes (yes even the older ones put them on) and I just cant tell them no! I need to work through this, because theyre getting older=more expensive!!

Friday Fill In time!

This weeks questions:

1. Are you a night owl or an early bird?

Well, lately Ive been sleeping in, but historically Im both!
2. What makes you jealous?

I tend to get jealous of people who grew up getting everything they wanted. People who didnt have to work until like age 25, because mommy and daddy bought them their car, paid their bills, and paid for their college. Drives me nuts. I dont hate them for it, just must be nice, thats all.
3. Have you started Christmas/holiday shopping yet? When will you finish? (There’s only 63 days left!)

Nope, usually I loooooovvvvve being a last minute shopper (Dec 24th baby!) but now that we are in Hawaii and have to send boxes out, Ive got to start next month :)
4. What would you have a personal chef make you tonight?

anything, just so long as I dont have to cook!! :)
5. Where was your first kiss?

On my front porch, and Im still friends with the guy!

Dont forget, you can get these fabulous questions every week by going over to Wife of a Sailors blog here...

Camping

Hello from Peacock Flats! This post is going to be really short as I'm flogging from my phone tonight and I just don't want to type out a long post. The drive up here was really nice. Once we hitched trail it was 7 miles to the campsite. 7 miles of bumpy dirt road. Once we got here we set up camp and I spent the majority of the evening chatting with a fellow wife from Kevins company. I love meeting new folks :) just a bit ago the other people that are camping with us  got here. They're awesome, but its late and Kevin and I decided to  head to sleep. We are planning to leave around noon tomorrow, so I will have an opportunity to do some serious picture taking! More tomorrow night.... with pictures!
